Focus groups in Greece

KMOP and COLOUR YOUTH organized online 3 focus groups in Greece on July 21st and on September 12th and 16th using the platform “ZOOM”; 16 professionals participated to the Focus Groups in total, with diverse professional and educational background and engagement to the subject.

The discussion highlighted the fact that during the pandemic service providers needed to adapt to a new reality, meeting the needs of LGBTQIA+ victims of gender-based violence. Despite the existing gaps existing practices implemented by the organisations were identified to have a positive impact on the effective service provision.

Training and information provision to public and private organisations and competent authorities, enhancement of existing communication and cooperation bridges amongst service providers, establishment of a rigid referral pathway mechanism, as well as experience and knowledge sharing are considered significant to improve the level of prevention and support.
